About Us
MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the Coalition numbers over 300 and includes parents
of children with special needs, mental health clinicians, social
caseworkers, juvenile probation officers, educators, residential
providers, and human services administrators. A Board of Director’s
meeting is held bi-monthly and the Conference Planning Committee,
made up of coalition members, meets regularly to plan the yearly
conference.
STATE CONFERENCE
The state conference is held yearly in March. If you would like
to receive information on our upcoming conferences, click
here.
ATTENDANCE
Generally, the conference attracts approximately 300 people. The
audience includes mental health clinicians, social services caseworkers,
public school teachers, probation officers a full continuum of residential
providers, and many parents of children with mental health issues.
The conference begins on a Sunday in order to attract parents of
children with special needs.
SPONSORSHIP
The coalition sprang from the efforts a few child and adolescent
mental health clinicians that were not being trained specifically
in the area of child and adolescent mental health treatment. The
coalition received a boost from Child and Adolescent Service System
Program (CASSP) funding and some leadership through State Mental
Health Services. Currently, the Coalition is receiving sponsorship
from the Colorado Department of Human Services, the Colorado Chapter
of the Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health,
the Colorado Continuum Network Serving Sexually Abusive Youth, and
the National Traumatic Stress Network.
